Early Life

Family History

Dr. Sarojini Agarwal was born on 31st January 1947 in Chitsauna village of Bulandshar, District, Uttar Pradesh. Her father Shri Chander Sen Agarwal was a teacher and her mother Smt. Vidyawati was a house wife. She was an intelligent and meritorious child, who always topped her class from I to XII class.

After doing Intermediate she got admission in MBBS in Lady Harding Medical College, New Delhi. In 1969 she passed her MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College. In 1970 she got married to Dr. O.P. Agarwal who was MBBS from J N Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, AMU Aligarh. After marriage Dr Sarojini Agarwal also joined J.N. Medical College, AMU. She passed D.G.O. (Diploma in Gynae and Obstetrics) in 1972 with Gold Medal. After this she passed M.D. (Gynae & Obst.) in 1975. At the same time Dr. O.P. Agarwal also passed M.D. (Medicine) from J. N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. During her stay in medical college AMU she also served as a registrar in Gynae & Obstetrics for 3 years.

After completing her study Dr. Sarojini Agarwal joined as a Lady Medical Officer in Cantt General Hospital Meerut Cantt in 1975, where she served the poor and needy people.

Professional Life

In 1986 she started Dayanand Nursing Home. Since then she is working as a senior consultant (Gynae & Obstetrics) in Dayanand Nursing Home. She is reknowned Gynecologist of North India. She has been the first one to start Hysteroscopic & Gynae Laparoscopic Surgery in North India in 1993. She also wrote a book “Hysteroscopy-A Clinical Approach”.

She devoted her entire life to the society by treating patients, serving as a politician, as an academician and by many other social activities.

Political Life

In 1995 she was elected Adhyaksha Zila Panchayat, Meerut and at this time she joined Samajwadi Party and started her political carrier. Being Zila Panchayat Adhyaksha she worked for the upliftment of women and children in rural areas.

In 1997 Samajwadi Party nominated her National Secretary of Samajwadi Party. All throughout till 2010 she worked on the post of National Secretary of Samajwadi Party and served the general public as a social activist and a political leader.

During the Samajwadi Party Govt. in U.P. she held may important positions like- Member of managing committee of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Agriculture University, Meerut, Member of State Pollution and Development Commission. In January 2006 she was appointed on the post of Member of SC-ST Commission Uttar Pradesh which continued till February 2007.

She was elected Member of Legislative Council (MLC) from Samajwadi Party on 31st January 2015. During this tenure of M.L.C. she served the poor and needy people.

On 4th August 2017 she resigned from the post of MLC of Samajwadi Party and joined Bhartiya Janta Party on 12th August 2017.

On 6th May 2018 she again elected a MLC of Bhartiya Janta Party and and started helping people with the vision of "Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas"

Social Activities

National Secretary of Vaishya Jagrukta Foundation (Reg. No. 180/2008-09). She is serving the Vaishya Community in all Districts of Uttar Pradesh

She is National President of Aseem Nari Shakti Organisation. Keeping in view the rising crime against girls across the country, she started Aseem Nari Shakti under which she organized several self defense teaching program for the college girls in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Agar, Mathura and Lucknow. She is working regularly for empowerment of women.

Along with Dr. O.P. Agarwal, her husband she started City Vocational Public School (CVPS) in Meerut in 1990 and she is chairperson of City Vocational Public School.

In 1997 they started Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) in Meerut.

After this they started Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET) in Greater Noida in 2001. Dr. Sarojini Agarwal is Chairperson of NIET, Greater Noida.

On 4 the July 2015 they started constructing Mulayam Singh Yadav Medical College in which a Hospital having 350 beds in functional.

Family Life

Dr. Sarojini Agarwal has three daughters named Dr. Himani Agarwal, Dr. Neema Agarwal and Dr. Shivani Agarwal. She gave good education to all three daughters. Dr. Himani Agarwal is a Radiologist (MBBS, DMRD) running a renowned centre in Meerut known as Om Imaging and Diagnostic Centre (P) Ltd. Dr. Neema Agarwal is MBBS, MD Radiology. She is working as Associate Professor Radiology in Sharda Medical College. Dr. Shivani Agarwal is MBBS, MD Radiology and she working as Associate Professor in Mulayam Singh Yadav Medical College, Meerut.
